Photography & Photoshop
Photography class is about using a camera for creativity, self-expression, and fun. Participants learn about photography and each meeting focuses on a theme or a concept. Students develop an understanding of the power of photos to show ideas, humor, or emotions. Any camera may be used and no prior knowledge is necessary. The only thing necessary is the ability to transfer photos from the camera to the computer so pictures can be shared using Drop Box. For this reason even a cell phone may be used for class, although there are limitations in adjusting settings.
Holding photography class via Zoom has had some advantages. Getting a closer look at the work of master photographers gives participants an appreciation of photography and is inspiring. Students have also been able to look at each other's photos and discuss them. Realizing how important it is to connect with peers, I use some ice-breaker and interactive photo activities.
