Cooking - Junior Culinarians
An advanced-concepts cooking class where students will learn about the technical skills and knowledge needed to build a foundation for culinary improvisation. The class will cover health and nutrition, food and kitchen safety, and cultural context behind recipes and cuisines. Parents can expect students to use real chef equipment; one being the use of Small-size Japanese Santoku knives. A healthy amount of critical thinking will be involved and teaching components will be expanded upon. Different food philosophies will also be discussed so that students might be more informed and altogether better served in their kitchens, at their grocery stores, and beyond. The class will be taught using carefully selected and crafted recipes, which will set the foundation for lesson components. Parents and students can expect a highly interactive class with a lot of delicious food from around the world.
Priority to CCMS students.
