The CCMS Improv Program is a comprehensive study of game-based, short form improvisation directed and taught by award-winning professional improviser Eric Price.
Students learn, practice, and perform basics and fundamentals of improvisation as well as advanced concepts and skills (scene study, character work, styles, genres, musical improvisation), culminating in a performance at the end of each semester.
Students develop essential life skills such as acceptance, commitment, flexibility, critical thinking, courage, full effort, being kind, and authentic collaboration. No experience necessary, but commitment, an adventurous spirit, and a positive attitude are required!

Interested in joining the 2026 - 2027 CCMS Improv Program?
The CCMS Improv Program is a year-long program.
Classes are held one day per week immediately after school : Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday at 2:40-4:40 pm. Wednesday at 1:50-3:50 pm.
Students are assigned to only one of these class days for the entire semester.
Commitment
There will be three Performance Group Improv Intensives each semester. These workshops are held directly after students' regular weekly class and are noted on the 2026-2027 CCMS Improv Calendar.
All students rehearse for and perform in a Winter and Spring Improv Show. Commitment to attendance for classes, performance group intensive classes, and performance weekends is required.
Participation Requirements
August 11-August 27: Online REGISTRATION period for 2026-27.
August 26 (1:50-3:30): MANDATORY class for RETURNING Students (Robert Frost Auditorium).
August 27 (2:45-4:15): MANDATORY TRIAL CLASS for New Students (Robert Frost Auditorium).
August 27 (4:30-5:30): MANDATORY PARENT MEETING (Robert Frost Auditorium).
Registration can be withdrawn after the Trial Class if student/parent decide that the Improv Program is not a good match for the student at this time. Unfortunately, registration is not possible after August 27 and the Trial Class is mandatory.
